The length of the railway is 2423 kilometers, and it stretches from Lanzhou of Gansu Province to Alashankou of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Lanxin Railway is the longest railway constructed by the People’s Republic of China and the primary railway to connect Xinjiang with inland China. Now, the entirety of the railway has been upgraded to electric power.
