The Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Museum is the only provincial, comprehensive topography museum in the autonomous region; and the largest institution for the collection and protection of, scientific research, publicity and education about cultural relics and specimen in Xinjiang. It contains rich collections, including silk, feather, cotton and flax fabrics; many types of documents and bamboo slips in many language; wood carvings; clay sculptures; and paper and tough-silk figures from the Jin and Tang Dynasties, etc. With a focus on the collection of cultural relics for purposes of research and a rich experience in external exchanges, it is also an important patriotism education base.
