Market research:
Marketing is the performance of business activities that direct the flow of goods and services from producer to consumer or user.
Marketing research is always the first step before the company gets into the market.
The fundamental goal of marketing is the satisfaction of consumer needs. No organization can survive for long without meeting consumer needs. People will simply not purchase a product or service that they do not need.
Thus, any organization, if it is to be successful, must proceed from the goal of customer satisfaction and adjust its programs to deliver an offering meeting consumers’ needs.
E.g. foreign medium and high range car manufacturers did not attempt to enter into the Chinese market until recent years, because following market researches, they discovered that Chinese consumers, in general, could not afford to buy and maintain expensive cars. …

Advertising:
Advertising is the most useful way to propagandize [,prɔpə’gændaiz] a company’s products and make them known to the public. Advertising is also the way to get the products orientated. (E.g. whether the products are for female/male market, high earning people or low earning people. Sports shoes… perfume)
When advertising a new product, it is essential to consider the target markets. Consumers’ needs in the target market.

A. WHAT IS IMPORTANT WHEN…?
RELOCATION A BUSINESS
l LOCAL WORKFORCE AVAILABLE
l LOCATION OF SITE
I choose topic A. As to this topic, as far as I am concerned, there are three things to consider.
Firstly, When locating a business, it is important to consider whether the local workforce is capable of producing a strong R&D team, especially for hi-tech oriented companies. Moreover, cheap local force will certainly reduce the production costs. That’s why many foreign companies choose China as their manufacturing base.
Secondly, location of the business sites should be considered, such as the following issues: 1) Whether it is convenient and easy for raw material supply and transporting out the products;Whether it is easy to get access to the electricity, water, gas and other supporting energy supplies; whether it is convenient for most of staff to go to work; environmental issues, and so on.
Finally, cost is usually the primary issue in business world and there is no exception for business relocation.
That is all. Thank you.
B. WHAT IS IMPORTANT WHEN…?
CHOOSING RETAIL PREMISES ([复数]房屋;房屋连地基;生产经营场所)TO RENT
l LOCATION
l LENGTH OF CONTRACT
I choose topic B. As to this topic, as far as I am concerned, there are three things to consider.
Firstly, the location of the retail premises is the most important. Many things should be considered about this, for example: 1) Whether it is convenient and easy for supply; whether customers can get easy access to the site; how about the governmental soft policies; how about the tax liabilities there and so on.
Secondly, when renting retail premises, the relevant contract should be considered. If the tenancy is rather long, more details should be covered, such as assignment, service charges, and rent review clause. If it is a short-term contract, it would be rather easier.
last, to maximize the profits and to minimize the costs are the final goal of all businessmen, therefore, in additon to good loaction, the rent should be considered.
Key points: location of the premises; local workforce; rent a premises
C.WHAT IS IMPORTANT WHEN…?
AIMING TO REACH NEW MARKETS
l MARKET RESEARCH
l ADVERTISING
I choose topic C. As to this topic, as far as I am concerned, there are three things to consider.
Firstly, marketing research is always the first step before a company gets into new markets. The fundamental goal of market research is to learn consumer needs. No organization can survive for long without meeting consumer needs, so it is necessary to conduct a fully-prepared market research before reaching new markets.
Secondly, when put certain products into new markets, the second step after market researchs is advertising. Advertising is the most useful way to make new products known to the public. Advertising is also the way to get the products orientated. (E.g. whether the products are for female/male market, high earning people or low earning people.
Last but not the least, proper pricing policy is also very crucial and the competitors’ prices should be considered when setting prices for new products.
