Questions 22 to 25 are based on the following talk.
The computer virus, is an outcome of the computer overgrowth in the1980s. The cause of the term "computer virus" is the likeness between the biological virus and the evil program infected with computers. The origin of this term came from an American science fiction The Adolescence of P-1written by Thomas J. Ryan, published in 1977. Human viruses invade a living cell and turn it into a factory for manufacturing viruses. However, computer viruses are small programs. They expand by attaching a copy of themselves to another program. Once attached to the host program, the vi-ruses then look for other programs to "infect". In this way, the virus can spread quickly throughout a hard disk or an entire organization when it infects a LAN or a multi-user system. The timing of the attack can be linked to a number of situations, including a certain time or date, the presence of a
particular file, the security level of the user, and the number of times a file is used. Likewise, the mode of attack varies. So called "benign" or the harmless viruses might simply display a message, like the one that infected IBM’ s main computer system last Christmas with a season’ s greeting. Malignant or the harmful viruses are designed to damage the system. The attack is to wipe out data, to delete files, or to format the hard disk. There are several kinds of anti-virus software providing the services for prevent the vi-res from attacking your computer. So you should install the anti-virus soft-ware before your access to the Internet. It will be no use to install the soft-ware after you’ve got infected.

根据下文的叙述,警察要做的工作有很多,所以“a number of jobs in one”(一个人要做很多工作)。这里的jobs的意思是“pieces of work, tasks(多种工作,任务)”。
“spend one’s time doing something,’某人花时间做某事。
下文“there is a fight”(打架)告诉我们,警察的任务是要维护和平。
waitfor意思是“等待某人”;call意思是“打电话”;expect somebody to do somethin9表示“期待某人做某事”;think of意思是“想起,想到”。
这里的“although、even if”都可以引导让步状语从句,但是even if是一种不是事实的假设,而al.
look for表示“寻找”;get.rid of表示“摆脱,除掉”;question意思是“质问”;sentence作为动词意思是“判处,宣判”。
根据下文的“we call the police”(我们报了警),选择疑问词who,指人。
根据前文的emergency(紧急情况),可以看出只有选项a fire(火灾)属于“紧急情况”。
“in the modem world”:在现代社会

单词this指上文“other forms of energy have taken theplace of human power.”(其他形式的能源已经代替了人类的劳动力)的内容。
在条件句中,this指下文“goods could be mass
可从第三段第四句“Highlyskilled workers were unable to compare with the new production techniques.”(技术高超的工人也无法和新的生产技术相比)可知答案。
可根据第三段中的“Similar changes forced farmers away.”(类似的改变赶走了农民)及“They had little choice but to streamtoward the rapidly developing industrial centers.”(除了慢慢向工业中心转移,他们没有其他选择)。

根据“…presentpredictions are that by1990,about thirty million jobsin the United States,or about thirty percent of the jobmarket, will be computer-related”(据1990年的预测,美国的三千万份工作,约占所有工作的30%,会和电脑相关)。
根据“Soon those people not educated in computer use will be compared tothose who are print-illiterate today”可知不懂电脑的人将会比作今日的“打字文盲”,所以此题选D。
根据“Knowing how to use a computer is what’s going to be important. We don’t talk about automobile literacy.Wejust get in our cars and drive them”(知道如何使用电脑是很重要的…

根据第二段中“Only plants Can use this energy directly.Theirleaves are little factories that use sunlight to make food from water andthings in the soil and air.”
根据第一段最后一句“and all food chains become broken up if one of the linksdisappears”可推知如果一个食物链被破坏,整个食物链就断了。
根据第二段中“only plants Can use this energy directly”可知答案为B。
根据最后一段第一句“But men in their greed(贪婪)and ignorance(无知)often break up the food chain”可推知是人的无知和贪婪破坏了食物链。根据最后一句“Breaking the links puts all life in danger.”

Erum Nadeem:
Sander Tideman:
PaulAboh:
Mansoor Malik:
Peter Fischer:

Since their coming into being, automobiles have been significantly contributing to human industries, agricultures, and even the daily lives.
It is automobiles that have beenshaping and reflecting the ways humans work and think. They accelerate thesustainable economic development. They boost industries. They also catalyzescientific research.
But nobody can deny thatautomobiles have also exerted some unfavorable impacts on social and economicfabric. First of all, they have seriously
polluted the environment in whichhumans survive. Secondly, traffic jam
wastes lots of time. Finally, theyalso waste the money, especially in metropolis.
My opinion is that in theforeseeable future, scientists will be able to solve all problems. Exactly, human will eventually be able to minimize the harmful effects of automobiles, whereas their advantages can be maximized.
