think→ believe, claim, argue, insist, hold the opinion/ belief that

promote /strengthen → improve (提高，加强)

ease → relieve (减轻，缓解)

adopt → use (采用，采取)

acquire →gain (获得(尤指知识上的))

appreciate →thank

motivate → encourage( 激励)

devote →spend

He spends all his spare time in reading. → He devotes all his spare time to reading
